The gimmick
What Vantom does
The one thing that defines this fight — read this before you draft your route.
An ink-themed predator that alternates between an aggressive stance (heavy single hits plus Frail to choke your block) and a defensive stance where it stacks block and charges a large delayed swing. Reading which stance it is in dictates whether you defend or commit.
Game plan
How to beat Vantom
Ordered priorities for the fight. Tools shift by deck, but these beats hold across most archetypes.
- Treat the defensive/charge turn as your warning: that is when a big delayed hit is coming, so bank block for it rather than overcommitting to offence.
- Use cheap multi-hit attacks to chew through its block in the defensive stance, then unload your heavy hitters once it is exposed.
- Vulnerable reportedly sticks well here, so leaning on it to amplify your burst windows is efficient.
- Watch your Frail stacks — if your block engine is suppressed, prioritise clearing or playing around it before the charged attack resolves.

Class-specific tips

Defect can pre-charge Frost orbs into the telegraphed big swing and use Lightning to nibble its self-block.
Cheap multi-hit knives shred its block stance, and poison keeps ticking through whichever stance it adopts.
