The gimmick

What The Insatiable does

The one thing that defines this fight — read this before you draft your route.

A soft enrage timer: it opens with a Sandpit countdown that kills you in a set number of turns. You extend the timer by playing the Frantic Escape cards it adds to your deck, but each Escape you play costs more the next time — so you are racing to kill it before you run out of escapes.

Game plan

How to beat The Insatiable

Ordered priorities for the fight. Tools shift by deck, but these beats hold across most archetypes.

  1. Treat it as a damage race against a clock, not a grind — every turn you spend escaping is a turn you are not killing it.
  2. Budget your energy between escaping and attacking deliberately; spend just enough on Frantic Escape to stay alive while pushing maximum damage.
  3. Front-loaded and burst damage are at a premium here because the countdown punishes slow scaling decks that cannot close.
  4. If you arrive with a deck that wins late, this is the fight to spend potions and one-time burst on to skip the back half of the timer.

Class-specific tips

How each kit leans into this matchup. Open a class hub for full builds and card priorities.

Ironclad builds →

Heavy single-turn Strength burst lets you close before the Sandpit timer forces too many escapes.

Silent builds →

Pre-applied poison keeps ticking down its HP while you spend energy on escapes — passive damage is huge against a timer.
