The gimmick
What Ceremonial Beast does
The one thing that defines this fight — read this before you draft your route.
A dormant brute that spends its opening turns powering up — stacking Strength and a Ritual-style per-turn buff — before waking into escalating multi-hit attacks. The longer the fight runs, the harder every hit lands, so it is fundamentally a race against its own scaling.
Game plan
How to beat Ceremonial Beast
Ordered priorities for the fight. Tools shift by deck, but these beats hold across most archetypes.
- Use the early dormant turns to set up: play your Powers, draw through your deck, and bank block instead of pinging it awake before you are ready.
- Once it wakes, prioritise Weak every turn — because its threat comes from multi-hit attacks, reducing per-hit damage with Weak is far better than raw block.
- Apply Vulnerable to compress the fight; its HP pool is the largest single target in Act 1, so you want to be killing it, not trading turns with a stacking buff.
- Have a real burst turn planned for when it has ramped — smoothing block across low rolls loses the long game here.

Class-specific tips

Ironclad loves this one: front-loaded Strength plus a Vulnerable enabler lets you out-race the ramp before its multi-hits spike.
Silent can lean on Weak application and poison — poison ticks ignore the block-vs-burst tension entirely while you stall the wake-up.
